WatchWatch
Following up to this recent post I found a video of another beggar. Now I am not sure if this is the same one as I can’t see his face long enough in the beginning but it might bethe same guy… which would kind of proof my theory that he is sitting there much longer than for 6000 Baht. This guy says he makes 30000 Baht a month sitting there….

Escudo visit 1
Checked out Escudo (see linked post) on the weekend and it was alright, the changes they made were good and itsw more of a club now than a bar. Upstairs is the ouse area now but here the problem was very obvious: Downstairs (where the music was a mix between Hip Hop and Michael Jackson it was packed but upstairs there were around 3 people…seriously, it was not more than that. The music was...

Democrats still have a chance to form government!
And as there seem a lot of things to happens till with the elections I am posting another news piece that just came up. Apparently the elections are far from over even though the PPP is saying that all over TV. Even Defence Minister Boonrawd, who earlier last week still hold hopes out for a Democrat government, yesterday was quoted in Thai Rath as saying there will be no miracles of a Democrat...

5-Point demand to the PPP
Before going into a coalition with the winning PPP party in the recent elections, Chart Thai and Puea Pandin executives on Thursday night made public five conditions for joining a PPP-led coalition: [1] the PPP must have reverence for the monarchy, [2] not offend Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanonda, [3] not take revenge against political opponents, [4] not interfere in the judicial...

Thaksin's Return to Thailand not possible yet
Thaksin was quick to announce his return to Thailand after the PPP party, a follow-up to Thaksin’s former Thai Rak Thai party, won the elctions. Sinece today this seems unlikely to happen. Deposed Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra will be arrested if he returns home from a self-imposed exile as planned, even if his victorious allies form a government following last weekend’s general...

The Pent Coyote Club
If you wanna get to know what happens when a group of rich Thai men create their “vision” of the perfect nightclub, then go down to “The Pent”, one of the many socalled Coyote Clubs (named after the movie) in Bangkok. This seems to be one of the most popular and best ones but there are also other places with very similar concept (Dancing Girls + Booze) such as Cream, The...

Great American Ribs Bangkok
Went to try for the first time this restaurant on Christmas Day. It has been there for a while already. Not bad is all I can say. A whole rack is just 480 Baht and it tasted excellent. Will go again. It is down on Sukhumvit Soi 36, a bit hidden soi, very quite, nice relaxed outside dining in a casual ambiance. Recommended. Great American Ribs Bangkok

PPP & the Military Junta
On a small sidenot…I am wondering how the military junta feels now after the PPP won the elections and is looking for coalition partner now. I mean, come on, they ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and killed his Thai Rak Thai party…most of the members of Thai Rak Thai went to the newly built PPP party….which in turn now won the elections! So the whole coup resulted...

“The coup is dead”
– Samak of the People’s Power Party (PPP) exclaimed after the election poll result on Sunday night, suggesting he had won a victory over the military, rather than the rival Democrats, who he regards as sons of the coup.

It was at the location of the future “The River” apartent at the Chao Phraya River. The event was by invitation only. A lot of people were messaged on facebook about this. When arriving...
